I'm Moving On Up Baby!!!

I was given my very own laptop at work today! Let me tell you, this machine is AMAZING. It would make Rodney McKay proud! ;D It came with this high-tech book-bag type what have you to carry it with. I strapped on the bag on my way out the door and felt like Rodney on a mission with his tablet strapped to his back! Hee! I kept thinking....'Now all I need is a thigh holster.' *smirk* (Ok, ok, just kidding, but I'll take John Sheppard with a thigh holster. *searches room*)

Anyway, to continue the geekfest, I'm pretty much sekritly in love with my new laptop. I want to have its babies! I still need to get the hang of Vista but I'll figure it all out. Any helpful tips or tweaks would be most gracioulsy appreciated! We also use dual screens at work so getting used to a laptop screen and a regular flat screen monitor working together took me a minute to get used to.

I need to come up with a name for it. Any suggestions? Hee! The coolest thing is that the keyboard has a built-in number keypad! And its 17-inch screen dwarfs my measly 15-inch personal laptop. My new toy also has this bio-metric reader so all I have to do to log in is swipe my finger! Yeah, I'm officially a DORK! XD

Oh lj....where have I been?

Wow...I haven't posted in quite a while (I know, I know...*iz lame*)

So here are some tidbits to wet your appetite -

* I just became an aunt again. The beautiful bundle of joy, respectfully named Chloe Ray, belongs to my younger brother. Her middle name, Ray, is my grandfather's name, and my entire family found this very touching. *g* This officially makes me the only sibling not supplying my parents with grandchildren to carry on the family name. *crosses fingers* Someday baby....someday it will be my time to have kids! But don't let Mr. Right Now hear me say that cuz he just might run away! *wink*

* My one year review at work just occurred and it could not have gone any better! I was given great marks, helpful feedback, and a raise that completely exceeded my expectations! Now I can finally begin paying down some debts, and then....shopping spree here I come like woah! I've had my eye on a new living room set for quite a while now!

* I recently came across this interview of Teh Flan and was quickly inclined to throw myself a SGA Season 1 re-watching party! Oh season 1, how I've missed thee *g*

* Last but not least, I'd like to share some thoughts on the cancellation of SGA. I'm a little late to the party, and it's been all said and done and blah, blah...but give it a read if you've got time and let me know what you think!

So has anyone else seen the NEW Season 5 promo that's out for Stargate Atlantis? It aired during the SGA eppy 'The Brotherhood' on SciFi earlier today. I've got my TiVo saved right at the promo and I've been rewatching it for the last half hour. It's a little bit longer than the current promo that is out, and it has WEIR in it!!??

Now, it all appears to be old footage of Weir, one shot definitely being from 'The Last Goodbye' but I just find it a bit strange. Did I miss something? Or are TPTB just trying to mess with us all? Hmmm.....

Came across an interesting article about a possible Green Lantern film.

Green Lantern: Coming Soon?

One suggestion in the article states that Joe Flanigan would be an agreeable choice for the role of the Green Lantern.

Guh! Can you imagine Teh Flan running around in green tights! Hee!, my brain shuts down at the thought...

What a beautiful mess!

"Dance your cares away
Worry's for another day
Let the music play
Down at Fraggle Rock!"

Hee! That's right folks....Fraggle Rock is back! According to an article in Variety -

"Just like the series, the film will be populated by a mix of human characters and Fraggle Rock puppets."

Hooray for no CG! I for one cannot wait to take this little trip down memory lane and see some good old fashioned Muppet frolicking!

Now...for your viewing pleasure, enjoy the timeless opening scene to Fraggle Rock!

Even if you're not a Star Wars fan, this is just made of awesomeness!

This email quickly made its rounds here at work, and now I think the 'Big Wigs' are seriously pondering getting the projector for our conference room! I *heart* my job! From what I've been able to gather, the projector is not the best quality (and I don't even pretend to know anything about projectors), but for presentations and what have you, it might just be about perfect. Heh! We are such dorks here at work *grins!*

I just now realized that I received my "Economic Stimulus Package" refund today! It was directly deposited into my checking account on Friday, but I didn't realize till I checked my balance today! Great way to begin a week! After going on vacation a couple of weeks ago, its nice not to be broke anymore. And after last week being so busy at work and NOT HAVING INTERNET ACCESS AT MY HOUSE *shakes fist at cable company because it took a 45 minute call for them to do a 30 second modem reboot*, this week is shaping up to be great! *smile*

More useless rambling this way... )

I'm sure that all of you are following this as closely as I am, but with less than 24 hours before the bidding closes, Lunch with Joe is now up to $26,500.00!

Watch the bidding here

Of course, all proceeds are going to the Waterkeeper Alliance, a grassroots advocacy organization dedicated to preserving and protecting our water from polluters. A wonderful charity that fully deserves all the monies this auction can bring!

I should go to bed....

Sunday, bloody Sunday!

My work week runs from Tues - Sat, with my weekend being Sun and Mon. Sundays are the days where I get to sleep in and do absolutely nothing all day! I woke up this morning, watched a few of my favorite eppys from SGA Season 4, and then found a McShep Friending Meme! Many props to [info]kimberlyfdr  for posting this! I spent the rest of the day finding new SGA friends! *waves to all new friends*

It amazes me how much time passes while I'm on LJ! I am a newbie here and I feel like I've been in a drug-induced coma all day. I do tend to have addictive tendencies, and this 'new drug' per say has literally curbed my appetite, kept me anti-social, and has kept me glued to the computer all day! The craziest part is that I LOVE IT! I'm not hungry even though I've only eaten a granola bar in the last 24 hours, and I apologize to all that have called me today, but I am clearly too busy to answer my phone because I'm lurking getting to know all my new SGA friends!

All in all, I've had a wonderful day! I'm sure I'll be cursing myself tomorrow, having to catch up on everything I should of done today - clean the house, laundry, dishes, blah, blah, blah - but I've have thoroughly enjoyed myself sitting on my ass all day on the computer. I'm so glad to be here and I appreciate all that have friended my today!

In other news, I have been searching the interweb for a picture of Rachel Luttrell's baby boy, Caden. He's about seven months old now! I finally found a picture on the Official Rachel Luttrell website. He's adorable! You have to scroll down a bit to see the full post. If anyone has other pictures, please feel free to send any picspam my way. Along with any pictures of Joe Flanigan and his clan!

Eli Stone

So I spent the day catching up on my shows, especially the last two episodes of Eli Stone that I had missed because I was out of town last week.  I must say that this show completely snuck up on me! I'm thoroughly impressed by this show, and look forward to the next season. *I haven't really checked but this show will be back...right? Anyone in the know out there?*

Anyway, I had a great day - a lazy day. Spring is finally in the air. The plan for the day was to clean up and do some laundry, but I never did leave my comfy spot on the couch or have either the TV or my trusty laptop out of eye site. I'll get all that done tomorrow....right?! *grins*

Personality Test

Ha! I went into this test very *skeptical* of what it would spit out....but found it actually very interesting!

My Personality

Neuroticism
89
Extraversion
34
Openness to Experience
61
Agreeableness
32
Conscientiousness
41
Mostly your emotions are on an even keel and you do not get depressed easily, however you experience panic, confusion, and helplessness when under pressure or stress. You tend to feel overwhelmed by, and therefore actively avoid, large crowds. You often need privacy and time for yourself. Familiar routines are good, but sometimes you like to spice up your life with a bit of adventure or activity. You will help others if they are in need. If people ask for too much of your time you feel that they are imposing on you, however you believe that a certain amount of deception in social relationships is necessary. You are guarded in new relationships and less willing to openly reveal the whole truth about yourself. You are a reasonably organized person and like to have a certain amount of routine in your life.
